Inverness Airport Business Park

Size: 80 Acres

Location: South of the Inverness Airport
Status: Zoned and entitled, earlystage development

Citrus county’s newest asset to reach the finish line and ready for development is the Inverness Airport Business Park. Envisioned in 2022 and breaking ground in 2023, Citrus County identified the Inverness Airport as having the potential to provide a first-class facility for commercial and light-industrial operations. The park will include aeronautical and non-aeronautical elements which is also reflected in the Airports Master Plan. At full capacity it is estimated the park will be able to accommodate approximately 500,000 square feet of permit-ready space for new businesses with a total employment potential of nearly 700 new jobs. Phase I of the park, non-aeronautical, is complete and being actively marked to potential tenants. Phase II, which includes taxiway extension into the business park, is on track to break ground as early as 1st quarter 2026 and will hopefully be completed in Spring 2027. This direct airport access opens unique opportunities for aircraft MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) facilities, aviation training centers, air cargo operations, and related businesses. The park’s sites will be “shovel-ready”, positioning Citrus County to attract new employers.

Holder Industrial Park

Size: 550 Acres

Location: North of Inverness on U.S. 41
Status: Infrastructure in progress, utilities funded and under construction

Nestled at the corner of U.S Highway 41 and County Road 491, 7 miles from the Suncoast Parkway and 20 miles from I-75, sits the Holder Industrial Park site. At just over 550 acres of prime industrial real estate (and another 820+ acres adjacent for rezoning), the Holder Industrial Park is by far Citrus County’s single largest undeveloped economic asset. The site has been in preparation mode for over a decade and has finally taken the last big step to truly being a shovel ready site. Thanks to the deployment of $2.8 million through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund, installation of wastewater infrastructure is on track for completion By August/September of 2026. With all the necessary infrastructure in place, Phase 1 & 2 environmental studies cleared, and Geotechnical studies complete the Holder site is now primed for its best showing possible. The County is eagerly ready and looking forward to engaging with potential suitors who want to call Citrus home. Once completely built out the economic impacts from the Holder site have the potential to provide Citrus County residents with thousands of quality jobs and become a stable and long-lasting economic engine for the entire region.
